Investigative reporter Spider Jerusalem attacks the injustices of the 21st century while working at the newspaper The Word in the latest new edition of the graphic novel series written by comics superstar Warren Ellis, co-creator of PLANETARY. The hammer has come down, but outlaw journalist Spider Jerusalem has managed to stay one step ahead of his detractors: the President of the United States and his lackeys. After losing his job, his bank account and his apartment, Jerusalem and his filthy assistants have gone underground to implement his plan to bring down the President.

Ellis really gets momentum here and the comic seems to have actual stakes, although the violence also seems to apt up. The farce and satire now seem contained by the Ellis's narrative momentum, and this helps focus the book even more clearly. Spider looks into child prostitution and increasingly homeless problem while being essentially on the run, and thus the social commentary gets profoundly dark even for Warren Ellis.

Not as exciting as the previous installments, but if you've read the last six you should have a pretty good idea about this one. If you haven't read the last six, I highly recommend it first. The saga of Spider Jerusalem is best in it's entirety, especially because as the series progresses there is less and less story and more and more philosophical filler.

As usual, Warren and Darrick do not disappoint. Like good whiskey, Transmetropolitan is mellow on the lips, complex on the taste buds, rich to the nose, followed by a warmth in the throat, and a burn at the end.

It seems like Ellis wanted to stretch out the story over by one book, because this one does very little to further the story. Don't get me wrong it was still what you would expect from Transmet, but it just wasn't as intense.

This book arrived in excellent condition without even one page ruffled or displaced. You went well above and beyond my expectations. Thank you.

The entire series is worth reading. As I write this I am just starting the 10th volume and I am not looking forward to the series end. I'll probably go back and read the entire series again. I am using the Kindle APP and sometimes one of the original Kindle Fires to read and the format is perfect. If something appears too small or you want to review detail then you can pinch-zoom and there is no loss of quality.

A really good addition to the series as it shows a different way the story can unfold then what we were used to.
